Consulting | Operational Diagnosis at ETE Oliveira

The company Wetlands Construídos was contracted by SAAE Oliveira to develop an operational diagnosis and propose improvements for the central wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) in Oliveira. The Oliveira WWTP, designed to serve a population of approximately 50,000 inhabitants, employs stabilization ponds, specifically a fully mixed aerated pond followed by a sedimentation pond.

The work of the Wetlands Construídos team consisted of reviewing all design calculations and verifying these parameters against actual operational conditions, identifying any deviations.

In this case, the main deviation observed was related to the installed aeration capacity, which was below the minimum recommended for ponds of that depth. Our team provided SAAE Oliveira with the necessary information to obtain resources to expand the aeration capacity at the WWTP and convert the designed ponds into fully mixed ponds.
